JuliAnne Jonker
JuliAnne Jonker, born in Minneapolis in 1957, is a highly acclaimed fine artist, portrait photographer, and educator. With a background in a family of jazz musicians and creatives, she developed a strong sense of inspiration and improvisation from a young age. JuliAnne seamlessly transitions between various artistic disciplines such as drawing, painting, photography, and sculpture. JuliAnne draws influence from both classical and contemporary training first at the Minnesota River School of Fine Art and then with living masters domestically and abroad.
Her work has been widely exhibited and sold, consistently earning critical acclaim. Notable exhibitions include Abend Gallery in Denver, Sotheby's in New York, MEAM Museum in Barcelona, Salmagundi Club in New York, WMOCA Museum of Contemporary Art in Wisconsin, and Museum MEA in Santa Fe, MN, where her pieces have become part of the permanent collection.
JuliAnne has received several prestigious awards and accolades, including recognition from Salmagundi Club, Art Renewal Center, MEAM Museum, Portrait Society of America, Intl. Velasquez Award, Intl. FIKVA Art Prize, The Almenara Art Prize Cordoba, Intl Titian Award and WMOCA Museum. Her work has been featured in numerous books and publications, including the cover of Fine Art Connoisseur. Additionally, she has had fifteen of her paintings included in the Lunar Codex, a collection of artwork sent to the moon.
